Yep. I keep seeing this advice, and thanks to what are probably hundreds
(thousands?) of RF noise sources in almost any brick and mortar
establishment, it makes no sense.
One possible approach if you have a store like Costco around you that
has a no-questions asked return policy, buy one, try it out, and return
it if there's a problem that you can't fix with ferrite chokes on the AC
cable.
Gotta get your RF environment quiet so you can hear my QRP signal on
160M. :)
