There is no moisture ingresss, except to gaps between multiple cores in a stack, or the gap of a clamp-on. The only concern is possible cracking around that gapdue to the freeze/thaw cycle. I live in coastal NorCal, where we don't experience that, but I remember it well from my 42 years in Chicago. FWIW, I've had no reports of that from snow and ice country, and my work has been published for ten years now.

Tony, you may want to ask the Solar Edge engineers about these concerns.
Heck no -- they clearly don't know anything about any of this.

I always enclose my ferrites in an enclosure.

Non-conductive, I hope -- if connectors are mounted to a conductive enclosure, they short out the choke, totally defeating it.  Also, if it's a transmitting choke, an enclosure confines any heat generated, which can lead to failure if you're running high power. Of course, if it's a conductive enclosure, you won't fry anything, but the choke won't do anything either. :)
