My Netgear WNDR4300 seems unperturbed by QRO 160 > 6. 200ft underground
to the cable modem and several runs around the shop. With the two
router hops I am getting 60Mb/sec over 802.11 link to pc per
speedtest.net. Every cable has a #31 choke with 2 turns, but that is
insurance for my Rx RFI (not verified).

I’m looking for a new router for our mountaintop station.
I've used top line ASUS modems for nearly a decade with no issues. I run
legal limit 160-6M. Nearest TX antennas are about 150 ft. My only wired
Ethernet is a short cable between the cable modem and the router.
The issue you describe can probably be fixed with good common mode
chokes on power and signal cables to the router and/or the modem. See
app notes on Killing RX Noise and HF transmitting chokes on my website.
Thanks to reciprocity, the chokes that work for on3 application will
work for others in the same frequency range. k9yc.com
