I’ve mentioned this on the reflector before but I think all variable speed pool
pumps including the two Pentair which I have at our VP5 property generate
substantial RFI if not filtered. Fortunately the solution is the Schaffer
series 631-FN2070 line filter available from Mouser. You must determine the
maximum current of your pump and get the model number with the correct amperage
extension. Install as close as possible to the variable drive and be sure the
case is grounded. Another one at the breaker box may be necessary to kill any
remaining RFI using the house wiring as an antenna.
About $40 each. You might ask your installer to pay for it and install per
code.
