I abandoned my wired network in favor of wifi per Jims suggestion.
Fought shielded cables, toroids, different equipment etc for years on
and off trying to mitigate the hf rfi. Still hear some very weak signals
from same birdie frequencies but nothing like I use too. Probably from
some distant neighbors. My hillbilly reasoning is that the ethernet was
spewing signals for great distances as well as wifi so became a lot less
concerned for any increase in security of ethernet vs wifi and the new
wifi, by some reading i did, seems very secure due to modern techniques.
All working great. Cable internet so we stream movies with ease.

Suggestions Please.
Wired Ethernet has birdies that are hard to avoid without shielded
cables, as well as broadband noise on 2M. Would WiFi work for you?
I've used nothing but WiFi since about 2004, first in Chicago, and
here in NorCal after 2005.
