I just received a new CyberPower CP1500PFClCD and it's broadcasting strong RFI
on the HF Ham Bands. This particular unit was assembled in the Phillipines.
I'd estimate the tone/buzz the CyberPower UPS is broadcasting to be aprx. 3,000
to 4,000 cycles. The strongest interference is on low bands: 160 meters is
worst, and interference gradually decreases in strength as I increase the
frequency of on my receiver, but the tone/buzz can be heard on all ham bands
160-10m. (though much weaker on 10m) The tone/buzz frequency and strength
seems to be changing, possibly decreasing, the longer the batteries are getting
charged. The unit has only been charing for an hour so far. I'll leave it
charge over the weekend and report again on Monday. Have a nice weekend! 73,
