Howdy,
I swear, power outages are Gods gift to RFI hunting... I have been
meaning to track down a mess of RFI, (I suspect I know where it is
originating from), until warmer or drier weather occurs.
Today we are in the midst of a freezing rain incident, with lots of
little power outages, all around me. The local power company provides
an outage map...
The home I suspect of causing the RFI is about a block away. He just
lost power, and ALL of my RFI ended abruptly...
I will do a drive by once the roads get to where they are derivable
again, in order to validate nothing is coming from that home.
Then once the RFI returns, and I see power has returned to his home, I
will be able to focus on documenting that home further, then it will be
ARRL labs time...
This will be the second report of the same location. They cleaned it up
when the ARRL sent them a letter, and it has been building again for the
past few months again... 40, 80, 30, and 20 are all affected, with 10
additional db of noise.
