Last Saturday I was attempting to attend a hamfest. The evening before, I put
the address in my Garmin GPS so it would be ready in the morning. I use this
GPS almost daily as my job has me going to places all over in a 50 mile radius.
When I took off for it, I knew which way to start off. Turned the GPS on and it
wouldn't start, but just gave an icon of it being connected to a computer. This
often happens in the start of my day, but usually is ready to go by the time I
leave the parking lot. When this happened I just kept on driving in the
direction I knew I'd start, figuring it'd soon wake up and do its job. It never
did. Later that evening, it was ready to do its job again. And worked fine when
I needed it for work once more last week. My question is, was this related to
the massive computer glitch that was in the news for all the missed/cancelled
flights the next few days? I actually had a back up GPS in the car but since
the main one was hung up with this icon, I couldn't access it to get the
address where I was headed to put in the working one and I didn't have the
address written down since my GPS usually works fine. I got fairly close to the
fest but never did make it. So was my problem related to the computer problems
going on?73,
