Soapbox:
Wow - what a contest. Never have i seen the bands more crowded, the RTTY
segment got newly defined. I guess PSK31 ops got hammered... sorry, guys.
Excellent condx on 40m. Activity was very good, but that also led to a never
seen QRM. Sometimes much difficulties copying the signals. 20m and up, condx
were weird at times, strong flutter.
Highlights (for us at least):
HO1A on 4 bands, KH6 finally worked in RTTY, P40MM on 4 bands, HC8N on 4
bands, CT9L on 5 bands, EM1HO on 3 bands, E21, PJ2, KP2 and many other
rarities.
Lowlights:
Few west-coast USA, only one US stn on 80m (tnx K1TTT!), few JAs, very few
VKs, ZLs. Missed a lot of the regulars. Missed the expedition to C9,
Mozambique. Did anybody work them? They announced SOSB 15M.
Considering the full 48hr effort we are not exactly satisfied with the
result compared to other SOAB and MOST stations and have to reconsider our
strategy and equipment.
Anyway, it was big fun!
Thanks to all who worked us, thanks to the sponsors!
