FWIW, indications here there will almost immediately be some DX expedition
happenings.
Fifteen meters not good now with pulsing noise on bottom end of
band...Sadly missing RTTY
frequencies in listing below... FISTS info primarily but may eventually
come to pass for those
of us on RTTY...

Subject: R.S.G.B. Newsflash: P5 North Korea, VP6 Ducie Island.

Dear Ralph,
The following statement appeared in the R.S.G.B. News today, to whom
acknowledgment is made. May pay, to let our FISTS members know of the
information by E-mail as the DX peditions will have gone by the time
the next newsletter comes out. I quote -
"The two rarest DXCC entities in the world could both be on the air
this week. YTIAD and YU7AV say they have a license for North Korea,
PS, and were expecting to anive in the country on the 5th of March
for what they hope will be an amateur radio operation".
"The Pitcairn Island Amateur Radio Association's second attempt to
activate the newest DXCC entity, Ducie Island, is also scheduled to
commence some time this week. The group will leave French Polynesia
on the 12th of March and will stop at Pitcairn Island to pick up team
members and supplies before going on to Ducie for a week's operation.
The VP6 callsign will be announced at the start of the activity. Two
stations will operate on 15 metres, on 21020kHz CW and 21295kHz SSB,
24 hours a day. Two other stations will activate other bands, with
28495, 14195 and 14020kHz as other prime frequencies. Some activity
is expected on RTTY as well. The operators are VP6DB, VP6AZ, VP6MW,
JA 1 BK, JF lIST, K9AJ, K5VT, N9TK and Tom Christian, VP6TC".
