I too have often wondered why no 160 in NAQP RTTY, but as I've been on the
reflector less than a year I might have missed prior discussions. Also another
discussion I could of missed is why NAQP RTTY only happens once a year versuses
the SSB & CW versions being twice a year.

I love NAQP RTTY so much that I'd like to see it run twice a year. Also, my
winter scores in the other versions of NAQP are much better than the summer
scores, due to seasonal difference in band conditions. I think state records
would be higher if we had a winter version of NAQP RTTY.

Looks like around 140 logs so far. That's pretty impressive. I ran the
CW NAQP yesterday and even though I had fun it wasn't nearly as much
fun as RTTY. It was a lot of work! Spoiled by the easy operating RTTY
mode I guess.

Almost the same thing happened in the CW test as what we experienced
during the RTTY test. An hour into the contest the bands went completely
dead. Not a signal anywhere. Since I already had a 2 hour break planned
for dinner, I stayed with it and started hearing signals about 10 minutes
later. - Whew!

Worked a lot of the regular RTTY guys and it was great to see them on
that mode.

I even made 4 QSO's on 160M using my tribander and rig antenna tuner.
I wonder why the RTTY NAQP does not have 160M? I think we may have
discussed this once before, but I don't remember what the answer was.

I was surprised at all the signals I could hear with my tribander on 160 that
were
non-existent on my 80M wire.
