There is a big difference here.

While the Yaesu and Icom rigs use a simple pull-down signal (and may or
may not work, or blow up, when feeding them with RS-232 signals) the
Ten-Tec Omni rigs' FSK input are designed to be RS-232 compliant.
I.e., it takes bipolar voltages as Mark and Space inputs.

Connect computer serial port to rig, and that is all it takes.

I'd sent an email to Ed past weekend about this RS-232 factoid, but I am
glad he figured it out by himself.
