Comments:
FT920 100watts to non-rotatable 20m dipole. The first session was hard going -
no obvious dx openings. Even JA stations, normally in abundance from this QTH,
were hard to find. 15 and 20m provided the bulk during this session - 10m
appeared dead most of the time, apart from LZ1NG and LZ2BE who seemed to make it
through the ether. Did just manage to catch (I think) LT0H AND LU1NDC at the end
of the session though. Second session started well with a reasonable opening
into Europe on 20m, but could only manage three hours of that - at 3 a.m. local
time 20m was starting to close up and I was getting tired!! Could only manage
the final three hours of the final session because of social commitments. I was
hoping at that stage 20m would be open to EU again, but signals were down
compared with the previous evening. Unfortunately my antenna does not favour
North America so it was good to work AA5AU and K0FX - thanks for finding my
little signal and thanks to everyone else for the QSOs. I expect to get a beam
and 40/80m antennas up within the next few months, hope these will help up
future scores a bit.
