Today I received the July 2004 NAQP Single Operator RTTY plaque.

I'd like to thank the National Contest Journal and the NAQP RTTY contest
manager, Wayne K7WM, for putting on the contesting.

Special thanks to Ray Novak and Icom America for sponsoring the plaque. Thanks
to Shelby K4WW for his involvement in the awards program.

And thanks to all the RTTY operators, not only in North America but everywhere,
for their participation in this event.

It is truly an honor to receive this award and I will proudly display it on the
wall of my shack.

The NAQP RTTY contest is one of my favorites. With high participation and
ever-growing popularity, this contest allows equals emphasis on rate and band
multipliers making for interesting strategies and a whole lot of low power fun!
I'm already looking forward to February's contest.

For those who missed it, you can read a recount of my July 2004 effort at

73, Don AA5AU

p.s. I've got a new hobby - pumpkin carving. Check out this carving I did for
Halloween of my cat Katarina. It took me over 4 hours last Friday night.
