Many tnx to all for the replies.  Yep,  going to a PNP transistor fixed it
right up.  Looking forward to many RTTY QSOs now, hi! Really a great bunch
of hams on this mode.

Mack the problem is that Kenwood sends FSK up-side-down by design.

You need to reverse the leads on the transistor keying circuit.
