Sending your call multiple times is not because you do not know your
own call. There are two reasons for doing it, especially when QRM/QRN
is present:
1. To let YOU know that he has your call correct. If he sends it only
once and it is garbled, you will ask for a repeat. If he sends it
twice and one is garbled and one prints correctly, you can be 99.9%
sure he has it right. Yes, it does take longer, but a repeat takes MUCH longer.
2. To let others know he is calling you and not someone else, again
due to the QRM/QRN/garbling issue.
I would agree that sending your call three times is a bit much, but
two times is not. Your other comment about sending HIS call multiple
times I agree with.
