Folks tend to congregate in narrow sections of the band because of 
SWR problems. For a simple dipole, the 2:1 SWR bandwidth is pretty 
narrow. Once the antenna is trimmed for 1825 or thereabouts, 
operation above 1900 requires either trimming the antenna or using a 
tuner or some other broadbanding device. A lot of hams would rather 
get in a catfight.

p.s. I just measured my full size half wave inverted vee... the 2:1 
SWR points are 1805 and 1870.
