   I use an AL-80 (the orginial) at a full 500W for RTTY contesting, 
and have for several years now. Still on the original tube, no 
problems at all!  I do recommend hooking up the ALC and adjusting it 
to limit the power out to a max of 500 watts, other than that its 
good to go!
