This is very frustrating to have confirmed a station on LOTW only to find
the station you worked has not entered the basic information required for a
QSL (His State). This LOTW thing is still in it's infancy but I suspect
that one day it will live up to the hoopla that it is being sold as. Just
need a lot of education and reminders from hams that they us it, so why
shouldn't you, and here's the information you need to have in your TQSL
file, otherwise it's useless.
I noticed this past weekend that I had only confirmed 1 state in the WAS on
LOTW. After manually tweaking for QSL's, I had 50 Basic, and 48 RTTY states
confirmed. Apparently QSL's will not automatically select which QSL lines
up with which state. You have to manually select QSL's per band, mode, and
state. It can be a lot of work!! For now don't expect them to
automatically show as WORKED without a little manual intervention.
To answer Phil GU0SUP, as far as I can tell, a person CAN select specific
MODES, and BANDS thru LOTW. You can choose to pay for a certificate or
sticker for that previously earned WAS award.
Example:
Basic WAS
Basic 80m
Basic 40m
RTTY WAS
RTTY 80m
RTTY 40m
Etc, etc, etc .
