Participation has been surprisingly strong right from the beginning. I
like it because it is a true distance contest, meaning your score is
based only on the distance between you and the station you contact as
measure by grid square separation. There are NO multipliers. 

Also, it is one of the few contests which have separate SO1R and SO2R
categories, although they don't call them that. The only other one I
can think of offhand is the Mexico RTTY contest.
