Jim,

This was the biggest disappointment of my new Icom 756 Pro III. I cut 90% of
the racket by putting the Icom power supply in storage and hooking up a big
air-cooled Astron power supply. My Kenwood TS-950SDX operated silent compared
to the Icom.

Oh, the second biggest disappointment? Not having true stereo for MAIN and SUB
receivers with crossfade. That was another step backwards and I don't
understand why Icom did not include this feature. Or is this another patent
infringement issue like they went through with the IC-765 design?

The fan on my 756 Pro III is loud enough that I like to wear headphones. In
fact, the Bose noise-canceling ones do a great job of getting rid of that
noise.
