Letting it dangle in a straight line is ok, but coiling it up is not.
You will be in effect adding an inductor at the point where you start
the coiling and that will change the resonant frequency significantly.
Coils are often added to an antenna to make them electrically longer,
but never at the very end of the wires.

You can model the anenna's performance with a program such as EZNEC to
see exactly what will happen. http://www.eznec.com/
