As usual, I could only put in a few minutes at any one spell during the
contest. But I had a lot of fun. I had two "WKD B4" replies and they were
correct. I had shut down on 40 meters. When I returned I set the rig on 20
meters and forgot to change N1MM from 40 to 20M. I was doing S&P and found
KD7GTI answering a call and he sent "599 QYP QYP". I thought the serial nr
was garbled and called him. He came back to me with "599 QYQ QYQ. I stayed
there and the next call he worked he sent "599 QYW QYW." Of course QYP is
160, QYQ is 161 and QYW is 162 as you read the key board. Obviously this was
a deliberate reply . The rules say " RST and consecutive serial number". In
my opinion he was not playing by the rules and also was causing those who
worked him to enter his number by hand. I don't know what he was thinking,
but it was not appreciated.
See you in the next one... Dick KS0M
