I have an FT-2000D, and it's fine on RTTY using FSK. The RTTY button is for
FSK; one can use AFSK in the Packet mode, though I've never done that.
I had a PRO3 just before this radio, which is a very popular radio for RTTY,
as it has a twin-peak filter for RTTY. I like having the Yaesu dual receive
again (I had an MP and an MP MARK-V before). I connected the stereo audio
jack on the back to the stereo line-in jack on the computer soundcard, so I
can have two instances of MMTTY running, one for the DX station working
split and one for the pileup. Admittedly that doesn't happen as much on
RTTY but it's still cool.
I have the DSP BW (narrow button) set to 300 Hz on the main receiver and
have the 300 Hz mechanical filter in the subreceiver. That combination
works fine for CW and RTTY.
The Yaesu doesn't have RTTY TX memories, but I didn't use them in the PRO3.
The tuning rate is fine, in my opinion. I have mine set at 1 kHz per
revolution. I very much liked the tuning rates in the PRO3.
The menu system can seem overwhelming. Configurable means complicated but
once you have it figured out, most can be left alone.
I have the DMU but wish it had the simple X-Y scope. I have a HAL RTTY-1
but MMTTY seems to make them all superfluous anyway.

Looking to buy new radio and thinking about YAESU FT-950 or FT-2000.
How dois it work for RTTY? I personally like FSK, but heard that YAESU
Radios need to be used with AFSK.
Whish (inexspensive) commercial interface should be used for RTTY? FSK or
AFSK? I am using RASCAL right now with TS-570DG and very happy with this
item.
In any event, wondering anyone opinions about these Radios in RTTY and other
modes.
