Anyone using the new IC-7600 on RTTY?

With the PRO III being closed out, my first instinct was to buy one right away
before they are gone (already own one as my primary
radio). I actually had two PRO III's at one time when they first came out.
Icom asked me to evaluate them as RTTY contest radios
and I accepted their offer. After the evaluation I purchased one of them but
sent the other one back. I just couldn't afford them
both even though they gave me a break on the price.

But now I see the IC-7600 is there as a replacement for the PRO III and I'm
asking myself if the $1700 difference in price is worth
it for gaining a little more in the scope and getting 3 roofing filters. I
just don't know. I suppose I can find the answer in my
own success with the PRO III. It is the best radio I've ever used on RTTY but
I've never had the opportunity to try a higher end
radio. But I've NEVER had any problems with the PRO III. I have NEVER had
problems with strong adjacent signals during contests.
So are the roofing filters going to help me? I'm thinking not...

I read the IC-7600 reviews on eHam which were all positive except the first one
from an I-station saying the Twin Peak Filter
doesn't work well at all in the '7600. Has anyone here experienced this? The
TPF (along with the band scope) is what makes the PRO
III such a great RTTY radio. I'd hate to splurge for a '7600 to find the TPF
does not work as well as the PRO III. All the other
reviews were very positive and most of those that submitted reviews were
previous PRO III owners saying the '7600 was a better
radio. Maybe better on CW or SSB, but I'm most interested on how it performs
on RTTY.

Thanks!
