In my copy of Part 97 (which includes all changes up to 2003), there is no
mention of the need to use "DE." You are only required to identify your
transmission. Punkt. Moreover, Part 97 applies only to US territories.
So, why is there a need to insult Technician licensees, anyway? I know some
that have globs more technical knowledge than Extra class hams. I know an
ex-Novice who had a Fields Medal (the "Nobel prize" for Mathematics).
