Just a reminder of the DCRG Long Distance Contest (RTTY) this coming
weekend.

Rules at

This contest is broken into three parts, which some contesters seem to like,
including myself. There is a separate SO1R category and a six hour category.

There is one unusual rule you should be aware of. Quoting from the rules:

"Stations that do not send the complete contest exchange may be worked and
logged for QSO point and multiplier credit."

This means it is permissible to work a station who is not in the contest and
who does not send you the exchange, yet still receive full credit for the
QSO. I don't know of any other contest that has that rule. There are a few
implications of this rule which are not clearly defined:
1. Can you not log any exchanges from anyone and still get full point
credit?
2. If you log an exchange incorrectly, is that QSO disqualified?
3. To speed things up, can you choose to not send the exchange at all?

Seems to me that the rule makes having an exchange pointless, but other
opinions are welcome. Personally, I think it is a bad rule.

What do you think?
