I have been using the Kenwood 590S for about three years, ever since it was
introduced. I love it. It' s just as they claim -- the best rig you can get
for the price. You can spend a lot more and get more features, but for the
price, it is great. The receiver is excellent with good sensitivity. Plenty of
filters, etc. The direct connect for digital works like a charm. The is plenty
of online support for whatever you need to do. Our club has used this rig for
our phone station for Field Day for three years. Everyone likes it. I use it
for PSK31, RTTY and JT65 in addition to SSB. The menu system is easy to use.
