I find action in 'major' RTTY contests much higher up the band and start tuning about .150 or so DOWN the band. Have had moderate success finding an open frequency up there with running. Find there are 'other' modes to avoid. Have found some good DX up there. If I find I am getting beat by the same stations while S & P, I'll skip up or down 10 kHz or so to get 'out of sync'.
