I forget its name now, but remember that mode that popped up a couple of years ago where the author 
had identified as a "spread spectrum" mode? (It is actually no more "spread 
spectrum" than some existing modes, and it is also not especially wideband, either, and the 
software for it was actually somewhat open).

Someone must remember the name?

But the "spread spectrum" designation got it banned from FCC jurisdiction 
pronto:-).
