You mean increases the noise!

I don't know about defeating the purpose of a DXPedition but Leader
Boards should certainly stop counting after one QSO per band and those
making more than two QSOs per band should see their Leader Board score
reduced in some way.

It's called "leader board bingo". Some of us would be happy with
one mode/band some feel the need for all bands/modes plus insurance
contacts......bragging rights at Visalia.

I agree with Charlie, except for two points:

First, this syndrome does not only affect RTTY operators alone, but
it has been 'trickled' into the RTTY gentlemen's community. Some
attribute this lack of discipline to removing CW from Ham Testing.
Others claim it's the moral decay of our society in general. Perhaps
it is a lack of role models.

Second, comparing hams to animals in a zoo does a serious disservice
to the animals. Zoo animals generally behave naturally, that is, as
nature intended. No so with Ham operators or RTTY operators. Zoo
animals don't know any better, but certainly ham operators should!
