If you have an ICOM radio with a REMOTE jack on the back, you can read
and write to the VFO using a CT-17 level converter cable. The factory
ICOM cable works fine but is rather expensive - about $130. Ouch!

I found a cable which does the job for $19.98 and that includes free
shipping. It is eBay item number 160865608528. Go to eBay and enter
the time number in the search box. This cable works fine with DXLab,
N1MM Logger and no doubt other programs.

The only drawback is that it handles only one radio at a time whereas
the ICOM part will do four at a time. But if you only need one, this
one will save you some bucks which you can spend on other radio
goodies.

Or you can do what I did - sell your ICOM CT-17, buy one of these and
have money left over. Nice!

Beware of some cables advertised on eBay that claim to be "CT-17"
cables but which are really just programming cables. They look just
like the real thing but will not work for anything but programming.
Guess how I found this out. :-) The cable I mentioned above is the
real thing.

No commercial connection, just want to help.
