[RTTY] Question about fldigi macro buttons

I really don't want to join the fldigi group for just one question, so
I thought I'd try here. 

On the macro buttons, I have one row displayed. The manual shows both
one row and four rows but doesn't say how to do four. I have tried
everything I can think of but no joy. 

The manual talks about a "knurled" area to the left of the buttons,
but I don't see it, even in full screen mode. 

Anyone know the secret?
