The only thing I’m not crazy about in Gritty is the ‘funny’ font that is used.
I can make it bigger but for my eyes it’s just ‘odd’. A selectable font would
be nice. Otherwise it works good.
And, thanks for the Thursday night NS plug!

Subject: [RTTY] RU Decoder Report
I was very happy with Gritty 1.3 performance in this past weekend's ARRL
RTTY RU. Mults work a little different in RTTY RU than in CQ WW RTTY so I
wasn't necessarily digging in the QRM quite the same way, but I did have a
couple QSO's with signals I honestly could not hear, but Gritty was
printing.
It seems to me there was some recent tweak in squelch performance with
Gritty. I remember some older version had no Squelch functionality at all,
then a later version had a high-threshold squelch. Is it possible that me
moving to a higher-powered CPU (went from a 10-year-old PC to a 5-year-old
PC), could have improved the performance of Gritty?
I also had my usual 2Tone and MMTTY decoder windows. Occasionally the 2Tone
panel of the MMTTY decoded text would go into super-freak-out mode, I don't
think this is 2Tone, but instead is N1MM+ window scroll handling.
There were a handful of times where Gritty printed nothing, like the
squelch threshold hadn't been triggered, but 2Tone and/or MMTTY were
decoding just fine. And other times when only Gritty could decode. So I'm
not ready to give up any of my decoders!!! To add more decoders I'd need
more screen real estate, though!
I don't usually start up Gritty for the Thursday night RTTY sprints,
reserving its "weapons grade" decoding technology for the real RTTY
contests, but maybe I should be checking it out on Thursday nights too.
(Plug for the Thursday night sprints: doing RTTY every single week for over
a year has REALLY helped improve my RTTY skills! Big thanks to the
organizers!!!)
