V22.21   27 July 2025

QSO Rate Window:
Redesigned to show both your current and best values, in
QSOs per hour, for your Last 10 and Last 100 QSOs logged.
The figures are relevant only for real-time logging - not
  for post-contest logging.

Further, and unlike other contest loggers, SD includes
seconds in the times logged for each QSO - giving greater
accuracy.  The  calculations take into account
cumulative elapsed time in seconds, since the first QSO,
for every QSO in the log - with the elapsed time for the
first QSO assumed to be 30 seconds. A break of more than
half-an-hour (1800 seconds) between successive QSOs is
considered to be "Time Off".  As such, the additional
elapsed time, since the previous QSO logged, is set to
30 seconds.  This makes the Last 10 and Last 100 values
more representative of your activity on both sides of
  off-periods.

The rate window includes your current and best values for
QSOs logged in the last 60 minutes (not the last clock hour).
Seconds are ignored.  The 60-minute values are counted in
accordance with CQ's "Best 60 Minute QSO Rates" -
  https://cqww.com/rates/

I've always enjoyed seeing how many QSOs I can log in a
single "clock" minute - from 00 to 59 seconds inclusive.
This is the "1 minute" value in the Rate Window.  For what
it's worth, I've managed 5 on CW, and 8 (once only) on SSB
  - this latter figure was accompanied by a Last-10 rate of
  485 while operating from EI9E.

With fewer than 10 or 100 QSOs, the relevant figures relate
to the actual number of QSOs logged.  To check your rates
at any stage of the contest, use the arrow keys to navigate
to earlier QSOs in the log.

IOTA Contest:
On reloading a log, non-island stations had a spurious
"X" inserted as an IOTA Reference.  Fixed. Thanks EI7GY

BCQP - British Columbia QSO Party.
Support added for new district codes.

SD is free from www.ei5di.com

When replacing an older version of SD, take care to "untick"
the box corresponding to "Create a desktop icon" during the
installation process.  Otherwise you may have to resize SD's
window, and set other parameters as described in GETTING
STARTED on page 3 of the manual SD.PDF.

If you're running Windows 11, and SD will not run (or if
the colours or layout are not what you might expect, you must
refer to Pages 3/4 of the current manual sd.pdf - included
with V22.21  These are Windows 11 issues, unrelated to my
code for SD. You'll need to carefully follow the info between
"Legacy Console Host" and "Running SD".  This only has to be
done once on your PC.

Before any CW contest, check your Function Key message
contents and edit the parameters as necessary - they are not
updated automatically for each contest.

Use Shift_F1, F2 as appropriate to edit the parameters.

If you find bugs in V22.21, report them to sd-user (at)
contesting.com

Please send your suggestions, comments, or questions to
sd-user (at) contesting.com - not to me directly.

Thanks & 73,
Paul EI5DI
