Hi SECC'ers:

Great working many of you on the bands this past weekend. This contest
started out as a get on, work a few folks, then go do something else contest.
I been planning to build a new beverage switch box that is microprocessor
controlled for several years now. I almost got it finished and discovered
that the programming software was at work. I ran out time to complete the
project before the contest started, so I was "beverage switchless." I did
manage to plug one beverage into the antenna port on the FT1000 and use the
switch on the rig to switch back and forth. I ran into W4OC (A) on 40 meters
Saturday night; he was about 200 ahead of my 200 + qso total. It will be
interesting to see how Don finished in the final results. The more I worked
the contest the more enthusiastic I became, especially after a good 2 hour
run on 75 meters Saturday night.

The all time SE division high score for SO/LP is held by K4XS. He has
something like 290,000 points, so not much chance to beat his record. My best
hourly rate was on 75 meters, at 0300 Saturday night, 124 qso's using the 3
element wire beam pointed NE. The next best hour was on 20 meters at 1300,
with 87 qso's. I had 20 band changes and operated 21.5 hours.

Good Luck in the CQWW this weekend,

Ron W4WA
