Gary, my story sounds quite like yours!! Went SO/HP 10 meters and was all
set to go when at 2345 severe thunderstorm line with embedded tornadoes
arrives. I pulled the plug on everything until 0120 when I got back on..
Worked 8 Ja's before the band closed! Bad news I didn't find out until
morning high winds stripped out #2 and #4 rotators on the 4 hi stack. I
hooked a rope on the bottom one and could pull it around but the #2 stayed
on Africa. The solar numbers were low for 10 but at least the absorption was
not bad and I could run Euros and Ja's while the band was open to those
areas. Ended up with 1097 q's, 90 mult's for 296,190. Highlight of the
contest was 3W2 calling in for my last qso and a new mult! Fun but looking
forward to ssb!! cul Cort
