Hi folks,
I had fun in a part time effort. I spent most of Saturday in the rain
putting up another 160M antenna and putting up an antenna for 80M phone. I
could have saved myself the effort. The static crashes and noise on 160
and 80 Friday and Saturday nights were amazing. I made a grand total of 11
QSOs on those two bands and not many more on 40. In fact, I kept hoping 40
and 80 would open Sunday before the contest ended so I could pick up some
mults. I got 12 mults in the last hour on those two, which is an
indication on how badly I had done prior to that. Ten was the workhorse
band for me. It just seemed I could find someone new there, almost
regardless of the time of day. Virtually all my QSOs were S&P.
I heard some SECCers throughout the weekend. Seems I heard W4WA the most,
but also heard K4BAI running on 20M late Saturday afternoon, and also heard
K4EA fairly often.
I heard two VERY impressive ops (excluding SECC members). The best was
3E500CWB. He was clicking off one QSO after another on 10M. I really don't
know how he consistently picked complete callsigns out of the large pileup
again and again and again. The second outstanding op heard was veteran
contester G4BUO on 15M Sunday afternoon.
Here's the summary:
