  Greg

I do propagation research in advance and make a rough operating plan. =
I don't have the
software, but use data off the web based on IONCAP and other programs. =
 I don't want to
interrupt my operating with too many distractions -- a few notes and a =
grayline display is=20
  enough for me! =20
  =20
I think one of the greatest values of SO2R is the ability to confirm =
the predicted openings by
actually listening. Even a poor opening can generate good QSO rates =
and mults if activity
is high, which the software can't predict.

Previous 27/55 days conditions are a good indicator, as well as =
watching the trends during the
few days prior to the contest (propagation reports, DX spots, some =
casual operating, etc.).

  K9AY

How many of you guys/gals use propagation software during a contest to =
predict band openings etc?

  How useful is it?

Do you have a dedicated computer for propagation software?
