Hi,
I mentioned to the guys at the SECC meeting at the Atlanta Hamfest
that I would be willing to help out with the GQP, mainly in the area
of promoting it ( but not as bad as K4OJ does the FQP !!!)
It seems the #1 thing that needs to be done is to get the webpage
up to date so people know the contest is still on. Also, a list
of planned rover activity needs to be collected and then published.
I can tell you from my previous involvement in the MQP and OQP, while
up in Ohio, that the amount of rover activity can break or make your
contest. It would not be a brash statement to say the MQP/OQP are just
slighty behind the major State QSO parties like CQP,PQP, and FQP in the
amount of activity. I think the GQP can reach that level too with the
support of the SECC.
I have an interest in the activity for the GQP to be good. One of my
recent favorite pasttimes has been doing rovering in some of the State
QSO parties. So I am willing to do some work in the background to make
sure the activity is there.
I understand Jeff, KD3UC, runs the contest but I don't have his email
address. Jeff and whoever does the GQP webpage (?) please contact me. I
am willing to help out....
