At the SECC Atlanta Hamfest Meeting, it was reported
that the person you asked stated he did not care to
serve. K4BAI agreed to serve as VP so long as he got a
commitment from the new President that he would not
die, retire or move to Portland during his tenure.
The only one rising to that bait was K4EA, so elected
by acclamation were:
Pres. K4EA
VP. K4BAI
Secy. AA4LR
Treas, NK4U
Other matters agreed to were that anyone submitting a
log with over 100 QSO's and wishing to receive a
Plaque for his/her efforts, the log would have to be
in electronic format. There was one strenuous
objection to that move and at least one other hand
raised against the change that I observed. It was
agreed that the date for 2004 would remain the same
weekend as 2003 despite the conflict with Easter for
some people. Date consistency was judged to be more
important than possible reduced participation on
Easter Sunday. Ed, K4SB, will persue obtaining a
vanity call sign for the South East Contest Club - he
has already obtained a KG4??? call for the Club.
Other details will follow from Secretary AA4LR. K4EA
announced that he will call the next meeting to
coincide with the Huntsville Hamfest.
