[SECC] NAQP

NAQP is one of my favorites:

1. 10 hours in the chair is long enough to feel like you have accomplished
something, but short enough to be able to stand up when its over.
2. I can make a decent score with my little pistol antennas.
3. Its mostly good ops. The NAQPs have gained a lot of following over the
past few years - the big boys will be playing, but with less intensity than
the sprints.
4. This is a great contest to practice up on whatever: SO2R skills, band
hopping, etc.

I hope to see lots of SECCers in the log.

I haven't operated a NAQP but it looks like a lot of band changing is a key
to doing well.

Hope all had a Merry Christmas and looking forward to a great 2004 filled
with much Dx and Contest activity, new towers, antennas and radios. Its time
to start talking up the January NAQP contests. The CW contest is Jan 10 and
SSB is Jan 17th. If you are not familiar with the NAQP, the contest is 12
hours long and single ops can operate 10 of the 12 hours. Break times must
be 30 mintues long to count.

Work stations ONCE PER BAND
Mults count ONCE PER BAND
Power output is limited to 100 watts.
Exchange is name and state.

KU8E is taking names for the SECC teams. You don't have to be in the contest
to give us a call.. actually, you don't have to be in the club circle to
participate in a team for the SECC. Dump in your callsign, name and state
you plan to operate from and Jeff will confirm.

Next we can start talking about operating strategy for the NAQP.
