Dave:
As far as I know, nobody has approached Dana or Tom about it. But I
think it would be appropriate for SECC to have W4AN as a club call.
Bill was the founder of SECC. It was his idea and he provided the
original impetus, although he refused to serve as an officer.
Some members apparently would prefer his club call of K4AAA. However, I
think that might be more complicated. I have no idea who else might
have been an officer of the Dahlonega Contest Club, who could transfer
the trusteeship or the call to SECC.
In preparation for applying for W4AN for SECC if Dana agrees, the
trusteeship of the SECC club call NR4X is being transferred with the FCC
from KS4Q back to K4SB, who will then transfer the call back to the
Rockdale County Contest Club, from whence we got the call NR4X. Then
SECC will have no club call and we will be clear to apply for W4AN. I
hope that would be agreeable to those you have been talking to.
73,
John, K4BAI.
