Jeff,
I read your email at 1143 ET just before I departed from my apartment.
That did not give me any time to query if anyone else would be at Panera
today and still make it to Panera by noon. I vaguely recalled someone
else said they were coming--I had at least three of us in the back of my
mind.
Anyway, I arrived at 1203 ET taking care of business via cell phone (one
of our VP lost or had his cell phone stolen; our CEO's main home ofc
phone was not working but her fax line was) just inside the main
entrance to the left.
After seeing no typical-looking hams in the place (or vehicles with ham
antennas or license plates), I bought a pineapple upside down cake
(large muffin-size) and drove to Verizon Wireless to get a replacement
cell phone for the VP.
Suggests we use a VHF repeater/simplex freq at our next SECC informal
lunch/stn visit. May be a good idea to suggest a simplex freq as a
default on our website...could be use when visiting other ham QTHs.
The Salmon Run will be my primary contest this weekend. If activity
slows, I will jump into the NA Sprint SSB tonight.
