Hello all:
Here is the claimed score:
Band QSOs Mults
160 39 20
80 184 44
40 209 51
20 201 51
15 90 32
10 46 18
ALL 769 216 = 166,104. 10 hours.
Frustrating contest for me. Did SO2R. Made at least 190 of the QSOs on the
second radio while running on the first. Need a good antenna for 160 and a
second decent antenna for 10 for it to be fully effective. With SO2R, I fell
short of my SO1R score from last January by 56 QSOs and 16 mults. I did not do
a good job of getting stations to QSY, even with the second radio QRV on
another band. One reason is that the second radio was usually using an
inferior antenna and was not on a QSY frequency, but was searching for new
QSOs. The second radio helped keep up the rate and located mults that I might
have missed otherwise. I did take the main rig to 15 several times to get
mults when I couldn't get through with the 15M dipole on the second rig.It is
much easier to QSY with just one radio and one button to push (and maybe one
antenna switch to use). I did agree to all requests of me to QSY and all but
one were successful.
I worked no stations in ND or SD or AK or HI. I heard HI and AK stations on
the second radio but never heard one running on a frequency. Also worked NA
countries: VP5, VP9,
ZF, XE, V3, PJ7, and TG. Also CU2JT on two bands was the only station outside
NA worked this time.
Had six banders from N2NC and W4OC. 10 five banders. 26 four banders. 20 M
closed about 0030Z.
SECC members worked: WB4SQ, N4PN, KU8E, W4OC, N4GG, W4NTI, KA9EKJ, K4NO. Also
K8JQ and K5ZM, who operate at NQ4I. Worked W4BTZ/M in GA and KA4NWS, KR4M, and
AF4OX in SC.
Don't know if I can do SO2R on SSB next weekend. Won't be good at it anyway.
I tried for SS, but the computer crashed everytime I changed rigs. Will check
it out this week. Jeff; I doubt I make a lot of contacts in SSB next weekend.
So, drop me to the part-time team if necessary.
73,
John, K4BAI.
