Hello all:
Here are my results from the FOC Marathon this weekend:
899 QSOs + five QSOs with W4/G4FOC = 904 QSO points. 48 five banders.
9 six banders. 6 continents. 47 countries. 904 + 649 = 1553 points.
Operating time: about 27:44 hours. I took Weesie to a dinner and a
movie on Friday night. Got some sleep. Went out to lunch with the
family and to the post office on Saturday. Stopped for lunch Sunday
with the family. Got some sleep both nights. Didn't stay up for
European sunrise Saturday night, as the rate had gotten very slow. Low
bands were only fair Friday night, but were very good early Saturday,
but the QRN here built up later, so that it was quite high by the time I
went to bed. Special thanks to G3SJJ and F5VHY for my only two European
QSOs on 160. Heard OZ1LO very strong, but he had QRN on his end.
10 meters was almost totally dead until Sunday morning. I did work
ZL2AZ on 10M on Friday afternoon. Think I was even on the wrong
antenna. Think I was using my 160M inverted L on the high bands at the
start of the contest. Rewired my antenna switch backwards from what I
had previously used and think I had it at the wrong end for the first
hour or so.
9J2BO, Brian, was an all time new band country for me on 80 M. Thanks,
Brian: you were quite strong here.
161,
John, K4BAI.
