Hi all:
Please disregard what I said in the summary of last weekend's scores
yesterday about an Oregon QSO Party this weekend. It is actually May
7-8, which is Mother's Day weekend.
The only contest this weekend for us will be the May low power CW Sprint
that runs from 00 to 04Z Saturday night (Sunday UTC) or 8 to 12 PM EDT.
It has all the usual NA CW Sprint rules except that there is no team
competition and all stations must run low power (l00 watts output or
less). There is recognition for QRP (5 watts or less output) stations.
This might be a good time for those of you who have felt intimidated
by the big signals from the QRO contesters in the regular sprints.
Usual QSY rules apply (move 1 khz to call another station or 5 khz to
call CQ after you worked a station who called you). Exchange is both
calls, serial number, name, SPC. 20, 40, and 80 meters CW only. Single
op only. Suggested frequencies center up 40 khz. Cabrillo files should
be submitted via e-mail to n4af at contesting.com within 7 days. Let me
have your claimed scores and I'll summarize them Wednesday morning.
There is no club competition, but please show South East Contest Club on
your 3830 submissions. This is very valuable publicity for the club.
The reason that there are no other contests this weekend is that this
weekend splits April and May, so it doesn't reoccur each year.
Have a good weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
