Hello all:
As a club, we have won our first (I believe) club competition plaque. I
received in today's mail a beautiful plaque shaped like the outline of
Texas from the Texas QSO Party for being the high out-of-state club in
the 2005 Texas QSO Party. Thanks to them for the plaque and
congratulations to the club and the members who participated and sent in
scores.
I assume it was mailed to me because I sent in a score and am shown as
the custodian and mailing address for the club call, W4AN. In fact,
W4AN is part of the address on the mailng package.
I will be glad to be the keeper of club plaques for the present, but, if
anyone else active in the club wants to keep them, I'll be glad to mail
it on, as I have plenty of plaques.
Now, let's win some more!
On another topic, Tim, KY5R, asked me in a QSO on 40 SSB yesterday if we
had a frequency (and I assume time) for QSOs among members on the air in
the evenings. I assume that 75 M SSB (or maybe even 160 SSB in the
non-summer months) would be appropriate. Since I don't have an Extra
class license, I don't think I could participate and take this
opportunity to ask if others have a suggestion. Tim said he felt rather
isolated from the other club members and prefers a voice QSO to posting
to the reflector.
73,
John, K4BAI.
