What a trip !!! John will have our numbers in a couple days. My guess right
now is
maybe somewhere around 2000 QSO's. We did 17 counties on Saturday and
18 counties on Sunday.
The pileups were unbelievable and the WX very challenging. We fell behind
because we
stayed in a few counties longer than planned to be able to work everyone
calling. We ended up
not going to Seminole county.
We were rain free until we hit Mitchell county on Saturday night. It then
started raining big time
with some thunder when we in the middle of no where. It rained off and on
pretty much from that
point on the trip home on Saturday night. We ended up in Webster county
the first night.
My babysitter couldn't be at the house until 1 pm on Sunday , so John took
my car and did a few of
the counties around my area - MERI,TROU,COWE and HEAR for the first few hours
on Sunday. I
operated from home for an hour or so using KU8E until the babysitter and John
showed up. We
were back on the road around 1:30 PM. We ended up hitting all of our planned
counties for that
day and were back in my driveway in Hamilton at 9:00 PM.
John will probably have a more detailed story with his posting. Nice job by
the SECC. I think this
year was a big success.
