FYI
Here is the current count of loggers used in 2007 GQP... when they were
identified in the incoming file.

50 N3FJPs G
36 N1MM Log
34 WriteLog
17 TR Log P
16 NA Versi
9 Hand Edi
7 GenLog v
4 CT Versi
2 CU2JT Lo
1 CQ/X de
1 DXKEEPER
1 Ham Radi
1 jLog V 4
1 LOGic CO
1 MixW 2.1
1 SD V13.1
1 UcxLog 6
1 W4AU
1 W8KNO IN
1 Win-EQF
1 Win-Test
1 WT4I Con
1 XLS FILE

(I clipped the names to keep versions grouped together.)
("Ham Radi" is HRD, Ham Radio Deluxe.)

I dont think software is a big issue, but there are several software programs
to check for changes.
The "hand edit" is work I do to prep a "wild" log.
John enters postal logs using NA and has done about 10 of them (?).

Am I right that the proposed mult change is just for GA stations?

I do score all the files myself, and re score them when new files are added.
The score process blanks all data out each score run, and runs all the files
from scratch to check whith each other.

I would have to fiddle my mult table and processing, but not a big deal.

Scores for non GA stations would be fine in those loggers as they are now,
forgetting a few suspected bugs.

Scores for GA stations would not be accurate in the loggers that do not change,
but would score and web publish correctly with the new mults here at the great
GQP system headquarters IT annex... My laptop.

I don't think the 5 DX per band is worth the work. IMHO.

I suggest we think a bit more on this, as it is a considerable change, and we
don't want to reverse ourselves after a gotcha pops up.

So look for the gotcha's and discuss, I am looking for a bit of input for
consensus too.

Thanks,
Mike...

If the rules are changed for next year's GQP the software should be a non-issue.

NA is easy to change. N4GG is a Writelog Guru and would know how to change it
and
the contest software writers will update their programs if requested.

The software used should not effect Mike's scoring of logs. My guess is he uses
the
cabrillo file and rescores them himself. That's what I did when I ran the GQP.

73, Jeff
